We had 12 attendees, including landowners, local business owners, KT staff, and KT Executive Director Georgia Gould.
E-Bikes
There was good feedback on KT’s recent social media posts about e-bike etiquette.
Georgia clarified that KT’s trail etiquette expectations apply to all riders, regardless of what type of bike they ride. More than anything, KT is simply asking riders to be respectful and considerate of other trail users, especially when passing slower riders.
Georgia also clarified that when overtaking another rider, the rider in front has the right of way. It is the responsibility of the overtaking rider to slow down and wait to pass in a safe location.
Memberships
There was a question about how many memberships KT has been selling this year.
Georgia shared that membership sales have been similar to last year, which has been disappointing.
She also mentioned that KT is considering bringing back a visible way of identifying day-membership holders, perhaps through a wristband. There was a lot of positive feedback about this idea.
KT is also working on an auto-renew feature for annual memberships, which would make renewals easier for members.
Trails
Dashney Loop is being refreshed, and drainage issues are being addressed so the trail can be open more consistently.
KT is waiting on permitting for two bridges that were damaged in previous years’ floods. Both KT and Burke Mountain are motivated to get the trail reopened as soon as possible.
The recent renaming of trails in the White School zone has helped make the area less confusing.
One attendee mentioned that Bobolink is very fun to ride and a good addition to the Darling Hill zone.
There was also a question about whether there are plans to connect Campground and Pudding Hill to KT and Lyndonville. Georgia explained that this has become more difficult due to the loss of a VAST bridge, but it remains a long-term goal.
